A mugshot of former England captain Wayne Rooney has been released after it emerged he was arrested on a charge of public swearing and intoxication back in December 2018.

Documents filed by Loudoun County Sherrif’s Office show the footballer’s name and address, and confirm the offence.
According to the document, Rooney, who now plays for Major League Soccer team D.C. United was arrested on December 16 before being released without bail.
It also shows that the former Manchester United player paid a fine of $25 and $91 in costs on January 4.
Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said: “He was booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Centre on December 16 2018, on a charge of public intoxication stemming from an arrest by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police.
“He was later released on a personal recognisance bond.”
The 33-year-old is thought to have been arrested at Washington D.C.’s Dulles Airport.
He was previously arrested for drink driving in September 2017 when he was caught behind the wheel, three times over the limit.
Rooney tweeted on Friday (January 4) that he couldn’t wait to “get back training” with D.C. United, ahead of the 2019 MLS season, which is set to begin in March.
The star player signed to the U.S. side back in June 2018 on a three-and-a-half year deal.
